Video Essentials

1.Steely Dan - Two Against Nature DVD

What a great DVD!!! The band sounds amazing - the performances are (of course!) flawless, the grooves are impeccable, and it's very much what you would expect from this group. "Two against nature" (the CD) is their first studio album after a 20 year-hiatus, and this DVD features a lot of the album's - now classic - tunes. Of course, you will find some of the old stuff too - "Green Earings", "Black Friday", "Bad Sneakers"....... and they sound even better than before - as if that was humanly possible. These performances put a instant smile on my face!
The video is also "part-documentary", which makes it even more interesting. Some interviews with the band members conducted by leaders Fagen and Becker are a lot of fun to watch, and are marked by their odd sense of humor. Get it right now, specially if you are a fan of the band!

CD Review

Karizma "Document" (2000)
This album is a live offering from the group Karizma, recorded during their European tour in 2000. This group has been in activity for nearly 25 years, and it is led by keyboardist David Garfield. On this recording, Garfield is joined by long-time collaborators Michael Landau on guitar, Neil Stubenhaus on bass and the incredible Vinnie Colaiuta on drums.
